About Alana Blanchard
Alana Blanchard is a surfer and model from Kauai, Hawaii who competes on the ASP World Tour. She has been ranked among the top ten female surfers in the world. With over 1.5 million Facebook fans and over 1.1 million Instagram followers, Blanchard is by far the most popular surfer in the world. In 2014, she was named one of Forbes’ 30 Under 30 in Sports. Blanchard is the star of the Network A series “Surfer Girl”. She is a model who posed for the 2013 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition and was named Men’s Health Sexiest Woman in Sports in 2011. Part of her notoriety comes from being good friends with inspirational surfer Bethany Hamilton. Hamilton lost her arm in a 2003 shark attack and her story of survival was portrayed in the 2011 film Soul Surfer. Blanchard was there when the attack happened and is portrayed by Lorraine Nicholson in the movie. As a result of her success, Blanchard helps design bikinis for Rip Curl and is also sponsored by companies like Reef, GoPro, and Rockstar Energy Drink.
