About Alan Belcher
Alan Belcher was a mixed martial artist and UFC middleweight fighter. Belcher originally debuted against Yushin Okami at UFC 62. He won Fight of the Night and Submission of the Night twice in his career in the Octagon. A seven-win fight streak in 2006 got Belcher his shot in the UFC. Overall, he finished with an 8-1 MMA record that year. He had a TKO win in his first pro fight ever, a 2004 match against Tim Ellis in Freestyle Fighting Championship. Belcher has an impressive array of skills and holds a black belt in jiu-jitsu, Tae Kwon Do, kickboxing, grappling, and judo. The Jonesboro, Arkansas native started in karate at eight year old and MMA at 15. Belcher played football, basketball, and baseball at Sloan-Hendrix High School and had a brief junior college baseball career. He currently resides in Biloxi, Mississippi and contributes to the blog ProMMATraining.com.
