Women’s Soccer Icon Abby Wambach Heads Back to Hometown for Book Signing September 16th

Later this month, American soccer icon Abby Wambach is headed back to her roots.  She will be in Rochester, New York for a book signing.

Wambach is scheduled to sign copies of her memoir, "Forward", on September 16th.  The event will be held at the Barnes & Noble on the campus of the University of Rochester.

The signing begins at 7 p.m.  There has always been a large grouping of Wambach devotees in her hometown so a huge turnout is expected.

Not many women have careers in the world of soccer that compare favorably to Wambach's.  She was a six-time U.S. Soccer Athlete of the Year.

Wambach helped Team USA win two Olympic gold medals and the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup.  In 2012, she became the first American woman to be named FIFA World Player of the Year in ten years.

Overall, Wambach played in four World Cups and made 255 total national team appearances.  She holds a U.S. Soccer record with 184 goals scored.
