Women's Basketball Legend Nancy Lieberman Hosts Summer Youth Camps

One of the greats in the history of women’s basketball taught important fundamental skills last week at her camp in Frisco, Texas.  Pro Basketball Hall of Famer Nancy Lieberman held the first of two summer youth camps at Fieldhouse USA.

From Monday-Thursday, kids from the ages of 5-17 learned a variety of skills and fitness tips.  Lieberman will hold a similar camp at Fieldhouse USA from August 10th-13th and more information can be found by going to www.NancyLiebermanFoundation.org

Lieberman dominated in the early days of organized women’s college basketball.  She won two AIAW National Championships at Old Dominion and was a three-time All-American.

Following her collegiate career, she played for teams in various pro leagues and even suited up in the inaugural season of the WNBA with the Phoenix Mercury.  Several years after that season, Lieberman came back at the age of 50 to play for the Detroit Shock.

She has also been a head coach in the WNBA and the men’s NBA D-League.  Lieberman also has earned a wider following through broadcasting work with several different networks.
