Two-Time World Series Champion Ron Guidry Releases New Book This Week

This week is a big one for former New York Yankees ace pitcher Ron Guidry. He is sharing intimate stories about his baseball career with the new book, "Gator: My Life in Pinstripes."

The book will be released on Tuesday. Guidry gets to talk about playing on one of the best teams in baseball history and his time playing with colorful characters like Reggie Jackson, Lou Piniella and Catfish Hunter.

He will also be making a variety of appearances to promote the book. On April 3, Guidry is visiting the Yogi Berra Museum & Learning Center for a Q&A and a book signing.

Guidry spent his entire 14-year career with the Yankees and won 170 games. He was a four-time All-Star and won five consecutive Gold Gloves from 1982-86.

In 1978, Guidry led the American League in wins and ERA and won the Cy Young Award. That same year, he won the second of two World Series titles with New York.

From 1986-88, Guidry served as captain of the Yankees. His #49 jersey was retired by the franchise and he was the team's pitching coach from 2006-07.
