Former NFL player Tony Boselli has been named the keynote speaker for the Second Annual Penney Retirement Community Circle of Family & Friends Weekend on March 20th and 21st. The event will be full of exciting and fun things to do, plenty of entertainment, and will include a dinner in the evening followed by a closing speech by the five-time Pro Bowl player. The funds earned from this function will be donated to a new scholarship program called “Shepherding the Shepherds” which supports people who are retiring to the Penney Retirement Community and is designed to honor their lifetime achievements. Tickets to get into this fun-filled weekend will cost $15 per adult and $5 for children, which includes a BBQ dinner, petting zoo, music, dancing and much more. However, to attend the dinner with guest speaker Boselli it will cost $75 per person and reservations must be made ahead of time due to limited seating.
Boselli was selected as a second pick in the 1995 NFL Draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars, who were making their professional football draft debut that year. The city of Jacksonville was so excited to have Boselli representing them on the field that the local McDonald’s even created and served a special “Boselli Burger” on their menu for a limited amount of time.
In 2002 Boselli was going to play for the Houston Texans, however injuries prevented him from continuing his career. Instead, he went on to own all of the “Whataburger” franchises in the Jackson area as his new line of work. In addition to that, he has been reported to have lost a lot of weight and participates in many triathlon events now,
