Tommy Lasorda To Hold Book Signing at Spring Training Game

Former Major League Baseball player and manager Tommy Lasorda will be signing copies of his new book in Glendale, Arizona at the Camelback Ranch on March 13 between the hours of 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. Lasorda’s new book titled Tommy Lasorda: My Way, is about Lasorda’s past as well as how his work ethic changed his life. He will also be accompanied by Colin Gunderson, who was his assistant and press coordinator for 12 years while they both worked for the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The two-time NL Manager of the Year got started in his baseball career in 1954 when he played for the Brooklyn Dodgers as a pitcher. In fact, even though he did not play in the World Series in 1955 he was still awarded with the ring for being a member of the team during that time. After two seasons, Lasorda went to Kansas City to pitch for the Athletics for one year before departing for international teams.

The two-time World Series champion made his MLB manager debut in 1976 for the Los Angeles Dodgers, and even though he had been offered many other positions by other franchises, he insisted on holding out for the Dodgers to have that opening. In his new book, Loasorda talks about how he learned to have resilience from his father, who got by providing for the family through odd jobs and a relentless work ethic. The former MLB manager has used that same hard work ethics to lead him to victory and his dream career.
