Tim Brown Represents Dallas with his Pro Football Hall of Fame Induction

This weekend a great football tradition returns.  Legends of the game will invade Canton, Ohio for the Pro Football Hall of Fame Game and induction ceremony.

One of those players that will be honored this year is wide receiver Tim Brown.  Brown also holds the distinction of being the first Hall of Famer to come out of the Dallas Independent School District.

It is quite a distinction for the former Oakland Raiders star considering the football talent produced annually in Texas.  Brown was a standout at Woodrow Wilson High School in Dallas despite not hitting the gridiron until his sophomore season.

The rest as they say is history.  Brown went on to be one of the greatest players in Notre Dame history, becoming the first receiver to win the Heisman Trophy in 1987.

He was drafted sixth overall by the Raiders in 1988 and went on to amass 14,934 receiving yards.  The nine-time Pro Bowler holds franchise records for starts, touchdowns, and all-purpose yards.

Brown now has several business interests and has served as a football analyst for several networks.  He is also the General Manager and co-owner of the Texas Revolution of the Indoor Football League.
