The Hype Around Chicago Cubs Rookie Kris Bryant Continues to Build

The hype behind one of baseball’s best young players is growing by the day.  For Chicago Cubs star Kris Bryant, the attention started to explode during Spring Training.

Bryant hit .425 with nine home runs this spring, but was still sent down by the Cubs in an effort to keep him under team control longer.  Adidas ran with that and unveiled a billboard outside Wrigley Field in early April that pictured the third baseman and said “Worth the Wait”.

Since debuting in the big leagues on April 17th, Bryant has proven the prescience of the sports apparel giant.  He has hit .333 so far with seven RBI.

Bryant was Baseball America’s Minor League Player of the Year in 2014 and they ranked him as the top prospect in the game heading into 2015.  He has been highly regarded since the Cubs drafted him second overall in the 2013 MLB Draft.

At the University of San Diego, Bryant won the Golden Spikes Award and Dick Howser Trophy after smashing a Division 1-best 31 homers as a junior.  The man many are counting on to help turn around the baseball fortunes in the Windy City is originally from Las Vegas, Nevada.

In addition to Adidas, Bryant has also been featured in ads for the energy drink, Red Bull.  With his growing fame and continued success in one of the top sports markets, Bryant’s endorsement portfolio is bound to expand in the coming months.
