Retired NFL All-Pro Chris Spielman to Speak at Medical Center Gala

Just like countless others, retired NFL All-Pro Chris Spielman has had cancer personally affect the life of his family. Spielman's wife, Stefanie, passed away in 2009 after an 11-year battle with cancer. 

He still carries on her legacy today, raising awareness across the country. He will next share his message of hope on March 23 at the Salem Regional Medical Center's Hearts and Stars Gala. 

Proceeds raised from the fundraiser will go directly towards cancer care at the center Seating is currently limited, but tickets are $85 per person and $680 for a table of eight. 

Spielman was a two-time All-American at Ohio State and is a member of the College Football Hall of Fame. After starring for the Buckeyes, he was drafted in the second round in 1988 by the Detroit Lions. 

Spielman played the first eight seasons of his career with the Lions, earning four trips to the Pro Bowl and three All-Pro nominations. He finished his NFL career with the Buffalo Bills and Cleveland Browns. 

After retirement, Spielman went into broadcasting with Fox Sports Net. He joined ESPN in 2001 and currently is a game analyst for Fox's NFL coverage.
