A top basketball camp is coming to Toronto this summer and it is headlined by one of the city's sports stars. Raptors All-Star guard Kyle Lowry coaches the next generation of players along with his NBA contemporaries Tristan Thompson and Cory Joseph.
The camp takes place August 18-20 at the Kerr Hall Gymnasium on the Ryerson University campus. There are morning and afternoon sessions each day designed for kids from ages of 7-16.
Registration costs $1,500. In addition to excellent basketball instruction, campers will receive a signed 8x10 photo of themselves with all three NBA standouts and various camp gear.
Lowry is currently posting another All-Star caliber season, averaging 22.5 points, seven assists and 4.9 rebounds per game for the 24-11 Raptors. He has started for the Eastern Conference at the All-Star Game in back-to-back seasons.
Last year, Lowry led the Raptors to the Eastern Conference Finals and was an All-NBA Third Team member. This summer, he joined Team USA for the first time as they brought home gold at the Olympics.
Lowry split the first seven seasons of his career between the Memphis Grizzlies and Houston Rockets before being traded to Toronto in 2012. The Grizzlies originally selected him in the first round of the 2006 NBA Draft out of Villanova.
