PSAB Names Baseball Legend Cal Ripken Jr. Keynote Speaker for Annual Conference

The Pennsylvania State Association of Buroughs is holding their Annual Conference May 7-10 at Hershey Lodge. They are bringing in a big name from the world of sports to serve as keynote speaker.

Baseball icon Cal Ripken Jr. is giving his "The Keys to Perseverance" presentation. The overall title of the event is "Service with Integrity."

Early bird registration is now available until April 7th. Delegates can now sign up for $260 and the price goes up to $310 on April 8th.

Ripken played 21 seasons for the Baltimore Orioles and set a record with 2,632 consecutive games played. He was a 19-time All-Star and won two American League Most Valuable Player awards.

Ripken totaled 3,184 hits and 431 home runs. He was also a tremendous defensive shortstop who won two Gold Gloves before transitioning to third base later in his career.

In 2007, Ripken recieved over 98 percent of the vote and was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame on the first ballot. He is now a successful businessman and owner of several minor league teams.
