Pace Baseball Names Hall of Fame Manager Joe Torre Keynote Speaker for Hot Stove Dinner

The Pace University baseball program is bringing out a New York sports legend to speak at their annual Hot Stove Banquet. Hall of Fame manager Joe Torre is keynoting the event on February 4th.

The banquet takes place at 4 p.m. at Aleo Restaurant in New York City. There will be cocktail hour, a reception, silent auction and recognition of Pace's 2017 senior class.

Tickets to attend are $125 and all proceeds benefit Pace baseball. Sponsorships are also still available but all guests must RSVP by February 1st.

With an 18-year career as a player and 29-year tenure as a manager under his belt, Torre is one of the most respected figures in baseball today. He is the only person to collect over 2,000 hits while playing and win more than 2,000 games as a manager.

Torre was a nine-time All-Star and the 1971 National League Most Valuable Player. While he managed four other franchises, he had his greatest success on the Yankees bench from 1996-2007.

Torre won four World Series titles as Yankees skipper and has his number retired by the franchise. He currently serves as Major League Baseball's chief baseball officer.
