New UCF Head Coach Scott Frost to Begin Series of Statewide Appearances Next Week

There is signficant excitement surrounding UCF's new head coach Scott Frost.  He will hit the road beginning next week, touring the state of Florida and firing up Knights fans for the upcoming 2016 season.

The Charge On Tour begins right in UCF's backyard at the Cheyenne Saloon in downtown Orlando on May 17th.  There are five other stops through the rest of the month: Cocoa Beach, Tampa, Jacksonville, West Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale.

All of the free events run from 6-8 p.m.  There will be various coaches joining Frost at the different stops while former UCF quarterback and current Jacksonville Jaguars star Blake Bortles is expected to be at the Jacksonville event.

Frost is a first-time head coach at UCF, bringing knowledge of one of college football's most innovative offenses from Oregon.  He spent seven seasons on the Ducks coaching staff, the last three as offensive coordinator.

Frost launched into the coaching profession as a graduate assistant at Nebraska and Kansas State before spending two years as an assistant at Northern Iowa.  That came on the heels of a six-year NFL playing career as a safety and special teams ace.

As a college star, Frost began his career at Stanford before becoming a two-year starting quarterback at Nebraska.  He finished 24-2 as Huskers starter and led the program to the 1997 National Championship.
