Nebraska Football Coach Scott Frost Speaks at Chamber Luncheon

Nebraska fans are already brimming with hope about year two under head football coach Scott Frost. He spoke directly to that excitement recently as the keynote speaker at the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce annual lunch.

In addition to touching on the future of the Huskers program, Frost also told old stories about playing under legendary coach Tom Osborne. He praised Lincoln city officials for making the area an attractive place for recruits.

Most of the interest, of course, centered around the new group of players who are coming to campus. Frost inked a top 20 recruiting class this past cycle and said the sky is the limit with those type of athletes in tow.

"At UCF I say this to our recruits a lot we got the 51st recruiting class and the 64th ranked recruiting class in the country and we want undefeated and beat Auburn. I can't wait to see what our strength and conditioning staff and my staff can do with a top 20 recruiting classes if we develop them the right way."

Frost was hired by his alma mater after leading UCF to an undefeated 13-0 season and Peach Bowl victory over Auburn. The team had gone winless the year prior to his arrival and he guided them to a bowl appearance in his first season.

Frost received several national coach of the year awards in 2017. His time with the Knights was his first head coaching job after serving as a coach at Oregon since 2009.

As a player at Nebraska, Frost went 24-2 in two years as a starter and led the team to a share of the 1997 national championship. During his senior season, he became just the tenth player in college football history to throw and run for over 1,000 yards.
