Larry Mize Delivers Keynote at Southwest Florida Fellowship of Christian Athletes Banquet

Professional golfer Larry Mize delivered a keynote speech to an audience of about 300 at the 8th Annual Southwest Florida Fellowship of Christian Athletes banquet on Wednesday, February 11th. The event took place that the Naples Beach Hotel & Golf Club in Naples, Florida, and its main purpose was to raise money for the FCA, which is a trans-denominational Christian ministry that specializes in working with the local youth. 

The Georgia native has been golfing professionally since 1980, and won his first PGA Tour in 1983 at the Danny Thomas Memphis Classic. However, he is most well-known for winning the Masters Tournament on April 12, 1987 when he outplayed Steve Ballesteros of Spain and Greg Norman of Australia. In addition to that, he had opportunities to play for United States teams in the 2000 Dunhill Cup and in the 1987 Ryder Cup. Mize has also dedicated himself for years to hosting a charity golf tournament to help raise funds to find the cure for cystic fibrosis. This event is sponsored by Coca-Cola and takes place at the Atlanta Athletic Club. The function was able to raise over $100,000 for their youth program.
