History-Making UMBC Coach Ryan Odom Keynotes May's Baltimore Catholic League Hall of Fame Banquet

Ryan Odom became the talk of the country when he led UMBC to a historic upset of top-seed Virginia in the NCAA Tournament. A number of opportunities have come his way since, including the chance to speak at the Baltimore County Athletic League Hall of Fame Banquet.

The event will take place on May 3 at the Turf Valley Resort in Ellicott City. There will be 11 people inducted into the class, including eight players, one coach, one contributor and one legend.

Odom will certainly have some fun stories to share from his team's miracle March Madness win. The banquet is open to the public and tickets are $75 per person.

Odom's Retrievers became the first 16-seed to ever defeat a one-seed. The team won 25 games overall and the America East Conference Tournament.

UMBC also posted a 20-win season in Odom's first year on the job in 2017. He was named the interim head coach at Charlotte in 2015 before taking over at Lenoir-Rhyne in 2016.

Odom began his career as a graduate assistant at South Florida in 1996. He went on to serve as an assistant at many schools, most notably Virginia Tech from 2003-10.
