Golf Personality David Feherty Makes Speaking Appearance in Myrtle Beach Next Fall

Preparations are already under way for the inaugural Mentor Cup taking place in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina next year. Golf personality David Feherty will headline the festivities with a two-hour stand-up performance following the tournament.

The event is taking place on October 27, 2018 at the Tidewater Golf Club and Plantation. The tournament is being held in memory of Gene Weldon, a longtime golf professional in the area who passed away in January.

Proceeds raised will benefit the Brunswick County and Great Strand chapters of The First Tee. They are still deciding on a venue to host Feherty's appearance.

Feherty originally turned pro in 1976 and won five times on the European Tour. He twice finished in the top ten on the European Tour's Order of Merit.

Feherty is best known for his work in golf television. From 1997-2015, he was an on-course reporter for CBS Sports and he is currently a full-time broadcaster for NBC Sports.

Feherty hosts a self-titled interview series on the Golf Channel that he began in 2011. His comedy routine is titled, "David Feherty Off Tour - Wandering Around On His Own."
