Former Texas Tech Quarterback Patrick Mahomes Returns to Lubbock for Autograph Signing

New Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has spent the last few months acclimating to NFL life. He finally made a return visit to his college town of Lubbock, Texas on Monday.

Mahomes held an autograph signing at McGavock Nissan. Fans got the opportunity to take photos and interact with the former Texas Tech star in addition to getting autographs.

Proceeds from the event benefited the Team Luke Foundation and High Point Village. Mahomes is now back in Kansas City and getting ready for the start of training camp on Monday.

Mahomes spent parts of three seasons as the Red Raiders starting quarterback. He had a banner campaign as a junior, throwing for 5,052 yards and 41 touchdowns against just ten interceptions.

Mahomes was a second-team All-Big 12 pick and won the Sammy Baugh Trophy. In an October game against Oklahoma, he set single-game NCAA records for passing yards and total offense.

Mahomes originally spent time as a starter as a freshman after an injury to Davis Webb. He came back to throw for over 4,000 yards and 36 touchdowns as a sophomore.
