Former Pitcher Jim Abbott Keynotes PACnet Community Conference in February

Former major league pitcher Jim Abbott has an inspiring story to tell. He will be able to share lessons from his remarkable athletic career as the keynote speaker at the annual PACnet community conference.

The conference will take place February 11-14 at the Newport Beach Marriott Resort & Spa in California. The event is being put on by the ticketing, fundraising, marketing and analytics solutions company, Paciolan.

Over 750 Paciolan customers will be in attendance. In addition to Abbott's presentation, there will be several industry-specific speakers and educational sessions.

Abbott was born without a right hand, but that did not stop him from being a successful pitcher. He was a star at the University of Michigan who went on to win a gold medal at the Olympics in 1988.

Abbott was drafted by the California Angels in 1989 and went straight to the major leagues. In 1993, he threw a no-hitter with the New York Yankees.

Abbott is the author of the autobiography, "Imperfect: An Improbable Life." He is a member of the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame and the College Baseball Hall of Fame.
