Former New York Yankees Manager Joe Girardi to Speak at Binghampton Sports Hall of Fame Dinner

At some time in the near future, former New York Yankees manager Joe Girardi will return to the bench. He is now spending valuable time away from the game and is a popular speaker for groups and organizations.

In April, Girardi will be the featured speaker for the Binghamption Sports Hall of Fame induction dinner. The event takes place on April 29 at the DoubleTree by Hilton.

Overall, 12 people are going to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. Due to Girardi's immense popularity, the Greater Binghampton Sports Hall of Fame and Annual Dinner committee are expecting a sellout.

Girardi managed the Yankees from 2008-2017 and led the team to a World Series crown in his second season. Overall, New York made six playoff appearances under his watch.

Girardi also spent a season as manager of the Florida Marlins and was the 2006 National League Manager of the Year. He walked into the clubhouse with tremendous respect following a distinguished 16-year playing career.

As a player, Girardi won four World Series titles with the Yankees. He was also an All-Star in 2000 with the Chicago Cubs.
