Former New York Knicks Standout John Starks Speaks at 3 on 3 Corporate Basketball Challenge

On April 13th, the Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich hosted their 11th annual 3 on 3 Corporate Basketball Challenge. New York Knicks great John Starks took part in the festivities.

Before the tournament tip-off at 5:15 p.m., Starks spoke to those assembled. He shared some words of inspiration and then rooted the players on in competition.

Teams were made up of individuals from Fairfield County and New York companies. Proceeds benefited the full range of Club programs.

Starks had the unbelievable rise to basketball stardom after going undrafted in 1988 out of Oklahoma State. After a season with the Golden State Warriors, he found a home with the New York Knicks.

Starks was an NBA All-Star in 1994 when he averaged a career-best 19 points and 5.9 assists per game. He was a crucial part of Knicks teams that were title contenders in the 1990s and was also named NBA Sixth Man of the Year in 1997.

Starks remains the Knicks career leader in three-point field goals. He currently serves as an ambassador for the team and contributes to their television coverage on MSG Network.
