Former NBA Point Guard Muggsy Bogues Keynotes Chucktown Squash Scholars Fundraiser

For all he achieved during his NBA career, Muggsy Bogues has always stood as an inspiration for those trying to achieve the unthinkable.  He was able to share more about his path to basketball success as the keynote speaker last Wednesday at the Chucktown Squash Scholars fundraiser.

The Chucktown Squash Scholars are a group based in Charleston, South Carolina that provide programs for underserved youth.  The fundraiser was held at The Scottie Theater.

Admission to attend was $30.  In addition to speaking, Bogues also conducted a youth clinic that afternoon following a three on three basketball tournament at TD Arena.

Bogues was able to forge a 14-year NBA career despite being 5'3".  He is the shortest player in league history, but was still able to compile almost 7,000 points and 7,000 assists.

While he played for four different franchises, Bogues is best remembered for a decade-long run with the Charlotte Hornets.  He holds franchise records for minutes played, assists and steals.

Bogues still serves as a Hornets' team ambassador and is the former head coach of the WNBA Charlotte Sting.  He was able to share much of his story in his autobiography, "In the Land of Giants."
