Former MLB All-Star Matt Williams Speaks at Fresno Grizzlies Hot Stove Gala Thursday

Baseball fans in Fresno, California have a special event to attend tomorrow night. The Fresno Grizzlies are hosting their 56th annual Hot Stove Gala.

It is fitting that the San Francisco Giants Triple-A affiliate would have one of the franchise's former greats come to speak. Matt Williams serves as keynote speaker when the festivities kick off at the Fresno Convention Center.

Tickets cost $75 for adults and $35 for children. Tables of ten are $700.

Williams was a five-time All-Star and one of the top third basemen of his generation. He won four Gold Gloves and four Silver Slugger Awards for his play at the hot corner.

While with the San Francisco Giants, Williams led the National League in home runs and RBI once each. He was an early star of the expansion Arizona Diamondbacks and played for that team until his retirement in 2003.

Williams won the 2001 World Series with Arizona and also made appearances in the Fall Classic with the Giants and Cleveland Indians. From 2014-15, he was the manager of the Washington Nationals.
