That year, Bridgewater threw for 3,452 yards and 25 touchdowns which garnered him Big East Offensive Player of the Year and first-team All-Big East honors. He posted even stronger numbers as a junior and was named Most Valuable Player of the Russell Athletic Bowl.

The Vikings selected Bridgewater in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft and he went on to win Rookie of the Year honors. He posted his first 3,000-yard passing season in 2015 and was selected to the Pro Bowl.
