Former Heisman Trophy Winner Tim Tebow Speaks at Dreamplex Gala in September

Florida-native Tim Tebow has often had speaking engagements in and around Central Florida. He will return to the area to speak at the 5th Annual Dreamplex Gala & Auction on September 30th.

The event takes place at the Clermont Arts & Recreation Center and is hosted by Orlando Sentinel columnist George Diaz. Proceeds are going towards the Phase II construction of the Central Florida Dreamplex.

The Dreamplex works to provide fitness and recreational facilities for those with physical or developmental disabilities. Individual tickets are $150 and sponsorship opportunities are still available.

Tebow rose to fame as a quarterback at the University of Florida. He won the Heisman Trophy in 2007 and two BCS National Championships with the Gators.

The Denver Broncos selected Tebow in the first round of the 2010 NFL Draft. He went 8-6 as a starting quarterback and led them to the playoffs in his second season.

Tebow went on to play with the New York Jets and had training camp stints with the New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles before stepping away from the game. He is currently working towards a career in baseball and is hitting .283 with 3 home runs and 11 RBI for the Class A St. Lucie Mets.
