Foot Locker Features Emmanuel Mudiay in NBA Draft Night Ads

Despite playing a year professionally in China instead of lacing it up for a freshman season at one of America’s college powers, point guard Emmanuel Mudiay’s NBA Draft stock and marketability appear unaffected.  The almost certain lottery pick will star in a series of commercials for Foot Locker airing during the draft on Thursday.

There are three different spots that are tied together by the theme “Life Changes After the Draft”.  Mudiay is shown in various comedic situations both before and after the draft to show how life altering the process is.

Mudiay signed a one-year, $1.2 million contract last year with the Chinese Basketball Association.  Following his decision to go pro he also inked a deal with Under Armour and he can been seen wearing gear from the company in these new ads.

Due to injury, Mudiay played in just ten regular season games during the 2014-15 season.  He did add two playoff games however and finished with averages of 18.0 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 5.0 assists per game.

Rivals.com ranked Mudiay the second-best player in the country coming out of high school. He overcame early challenges in his life with the death of his father and fleeing the war torn Congo that add to his miraculous story.
