Former LA Dodgers Ace Orel Hershiser to Speak at CSUB Hot Stove Dinner

Orel Hershiser is one of the greatest pitchers in Los Angeles Dodgers and he has become a popular speaker for a wide variety of events. He will next share his message at the Cal State University Bakersfield Hot Stove Dinner.

The sixth annual event will be held on January 31 at the Kern County Fairgrounds. Tickets are available for $125 and the dinner regularly sells out.

This year, half of the 500 tickets allotted for Hershiser's presentation are already sold out. He will participate in a question and answer session.

Hershiser had a 17-year career and made his greatest impact during his first of two tenures with the Dodgers. He had an amazing banner season in 1988, winning the CY Young Award, NLCS MVP and World Series MVP.

Hershiser capped that campaign by pitching a record 59 consecutive scoreless innings. He was also a National League All-Star for three straight seasons from 1987-89.

Hershiser had postseason success with the Cleveland Indians as well, winning the 1995 ALCS MVP Award. In retirement, he has been a broadcaster for ESPN and the Dodgers.
