Brett Favre Named Guest Speaker at the 19th Annual Steak Dinner Charity Auction

Former NFL quarterback Brett Favre has been announced as the guest speaker for the 19th Annual Steak and Steak Dinner and Charity Auction next month on April 24. The event is hosted by Mercy Springfield and will benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs in Springfield, and will start at 7 p.m. at the University Plaza Convention Center.

The well-known retired professional football player played for 19 years in the NFL and spent the majority of his time with the Green Bay Packers for a total of 15 years. His iconic number four jersey has since been retired from the team, and is the only quarterback in the history of the NFL to throw for over 70,000 yards, more than 10,000 pass attempts, and over 6,000 completions. Favre is also a Super Bowl XXXI champion, a two-time NFC champion, and has appeared in 11 Pro Bowl games. Aside from the Packers he also played with the Atlanta Falcons, New York Jets, and Minnesota Vikings for less than two years with each franchise.

Favre will be a speaker at the 19th Annual Steak and Steak Dinner and Charity Auction in April to help raise proceeds for the Boys & Girls Clubs in Springfield, and based on last year’s successful collection of over $200,000, the hosts are hoping to do equally as well with a big name like Brett Favre being there.
