Big3 League Names WNBA Legend Lisa Leslie Coach of New Expansion Team

After two successful seasons, the Big 3 league is taking the next step for their third campaign this summer. They are adding four expansion teams and making WNBA legend Lisa Leslie the head coach of a new team.

The Big 3 has already had success with a female coach.  Nancy Lieberman guided the Power to the league's' championship last year and she won Coach of the Year honors.

Leslie will head up the Triplets for the barnstorming 3-on-3 league that travels around the country with former NBA players. There are several other Basketball Hall of Famers like Gary Payton, George Gervin and Julius Erving who also coach in the Big 3.

As a top ten pick in the inaugural 1997 Draft, Leslie was one of the first stars of the WNBA. She went on to win three league MVP awards, was an eight-time WNBA All-Star and eight-time All-WNBA first-team member.

Leslie had one of the league's iconic moments when she became the first player to dunk in a game. She was also a feared defender and two-time WNBA Defensive Player of the Year.

Outside of the professional ranks, Leslie won four Olympic gold medals. She is a member of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and has worked extensively in broadcasting since her retirement.
