Baseball Hall of Famer Chipper Jones to Keynote Banquet at Florida Southern

While Baseball Hall of Famer Chipper Jones is best known for his time with the Atlanta Braves, his journey to excellence started in Florida. Jones will next be making a special appearance in the Sunshine State as the keynote speaker at the Florida Southern Athletics Hall of Fame banquet.

Jones will talk about reaching the pinnacle of baseball and also share the lessons in life that he learned along the way. He is the perfect speaker to excite a crowd that will be filled with current and former student-athletes and sports fans.

The event takes place February 25 at the Streamline Sale Arena in Jenkins Field House. Tickets to the banquet are currently available for $50.

Over 19 seasons with the Braves, Jones became one of the greatest switch hitters in baseball history. He was an eight-time National League All-Star and two-time Silver Slugger winner.

Jones had several banner seasons, including 1999 when he was named NL MVP and in 2008 when he won the league's batting title. He has a record 1,623 RBI for a third baseman and is Atlanta's all-time leader in on-base percentage.

Early in his career, Jones helped the Braves win the 1995 World Series. He is a member of the team's Hall of Fame, has his number retired by the franchise and was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame last year.
