Atlanta Falcons President and CEO Rich McKay Speaks at Sports Facilities and Franchises Symposium

With the Atlanta Falcons about to open the new Mercedez-Benz Stadium, team President and CEO Rich McKay is a perfect speaker for an upcoming event presented by AXS.  The AXS Sports Facilities & Ticketing Symposium runs September 20-22 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Hundreds of sports industry professionals descend on The Commons Hotel.  The conference is in its 16th year and it is designed for team presidents, CEOs and other top C-level executives.

McKay will talk about some of the advancements they have made with the new stadium.  Registration for the full symposium pass is $1,370 for Sports Business Journal subscribers and $1,570 for non-subscribers.

Over the past three decades, McKay has been one of the most important NFL executives.  He first joined the Falcons in 2003 as president and general manager.

McKay rose to prominence in league circles as the general manager of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 1994-2003.  He drafted several players who would become Buccaneers and led the franchise to their greatest period of success in team history.

During his time as a GM, McKay drafted 59 Pro Bowlers and he has seen 11 of his former staffers become GMs.  He holds an important place in the NFL as the Chairman of the Competition Committee.
