Archie Manning Named Keynote Speaker at Terrebonne Education Banquet

Former NFL quarterback Archie Manning is going to be the keynote speaker at the annual Terrebonne education banquet this coming Tuesday in Terrebonne, QC, Canada. The event is a fundraiser for the the Terrebonne Foundation for Academic Excellence, and the money that is raised will be used to provide local schools in classroom grants. The event is already sold out, but it will take place at the Cypruss Columns at 7 p.m.

The two-time Pro Bowl football player is also the father of current NFL quarterback for the Denver Broncos, Peyton Manning, and current NFL quarterback for the New York Giants, Eli Manning. The Mississippi native played for the New Orleans Saints, Houston Oilers, and the Minnesota Vikings from 1971-1984, and was also named the Whizzer White NFL Man of the Year in 1977. Even though the New Orleans Saints never officially retired Mannings #8 jersey, but it is understood that the number will never be reissued again.

Manning has always understood the importance of education as his mother had always persuaded him to finish his college degree in addition to working on his football career. The staff and people in charge of running the banquet were extremely excited to learn that Archie Manning would be their guest speaker, and expect the retired NFL player to be a big hit with the audience as well.
