As he jumps into his career as a pro golfer, 2015 U.S. Amateur champion Bryson DeChambeau has picked up another endorsement deal. The top talent's new sponsor is cybersecurity company Cylance.
Cylance said in a release that they value DeChambeau's analytical approach to the game. Similarly, he likes their groundbreaking approach to the artificial intelligence world.
Cylance was already in the world of sports, dealing mostly in cycling sponsorships. Now they have added one of the brightest young stars in golf to their roster.
DeChambeau had a banner 2015. In addition to capturing the U.S. Amateur, he won the NCAA Championship as a member of the Southern Methodist University golf team.
With the two victories, DeChambeau became just the fifth golfer to win both events in the same year, joining legends of the game like Jack Nicklaus, Phil Mickelson and Tiger Woods. In between those triumphs, he also made his PGA Tour debut at the FedEx St. Jude Classic.
DeChambeau turned pro after this year's Masters, which he finished in a tie for 21st. He also had a strong showing at the U.S. Open, ending up tied for 15th.
