1982 Heisman Trophy Winner Herschel Walker Keynotes Via All-Star Basketball Banquet in March

Stories of some of Herschel Walker's more impressive athletic achievements have taken on legendary status. Walker will get the opportunity to share some of those tales as the keynote speaker at the Via All-Star Basketball Banquet.

The event takes place on March 28th at the Sands Event Center in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. It is the standout occasion on the schedule leading into Via's Super Saturday. 

Proceeds raised go towards Via of the Lehigh Valley's disabilities services for children and adults. In addition to Walker's presentation, new members will be inducted into the Lehigh Valley High School Basketball Hall of Fame. 

Walker first made his mark at the University of Georgia, where he won the 1982 Heisman Trophy. He was a three-time SEC Player of the Year and a three-time consensus All-American. 

Walker spent the first three seasons of his professional career with the USFL's New Jersey Generals. He went on to rush for 8,225 yards and record 4,859 receiving yards in the NFL. 

Outside of football, Walker has competed for Team USA in bobsled at the Olympics, won two fights as a professional mixed martial artist and become a fifth-degree black belt in tae kwon do. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1999.
