Tony Segreto Biography

Tony Segreto is one of the most widely recognized and influential sportscasters in the South Florida area. He has filled the television sets of homes in the area for nearly 40 years. Tony began his career talking about sports when he joined the Florida NBC affiliate station WTVJ when he was just 18 years old. He has recollected that on his first day he expected his career to last less than 40 minutes, not nearly 40 years. As a South Florida native Tony decided through time that he would remain with WTVJ in South Florida rather than exploit possible opportunities with other networks in other area because Segreto has said he intended to stay in Florida his entire career, and certainly didn't mind if he spent his retirement there either. Amongst his many accolades, he was awarded with the prestigious Silver Circle Award by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS), recognizing over 25 years of excellence in broadcast journalism.
