Shaun Palmer Biography

Shaun Palmer is the definition of an extreme outdoors athlete. Known as “Palm Daddy” by fellow extreme athletes, he is considered one of the forefathers of extreme sports with experience as a pro snowboarder, skier, mountain biker and motocross rider. He got his start on the big stage when he won the 1990 Swatch World Halfpipe Championship and went on to capture the 1996 World Championship in the downhill and 1999 US National Championship in the Dual Slalom Biking competition. In 1997 he made his Winter X Games debut and won two gold medals in the Snow Mountain Bike Race and Boardercross. Eventually he won four more gold medals from 1998 to 2001 in the Boardercross, Skiercross and Ultracross competitions. In 1995 he founded Palmer Snowboards, which has become of the top names in extreme sports equipment and apparel. In 2001 Activision launched the Shaun Palmer’s Pro Snowboarder game on Playstation, which served to boost Palmer’s name world wide.
