Matty Reed Biography

Matty “Boom Boom” Reed is an elite triathlon. Reed was born on November 8, 1975 in Palmerston North, New Zealand and he was raided to be a triathlete. Reed is considered one of the most decorated triathletes in competition today. In 2008, Reed was named USA Triathlon’s Athlete of the Year and he won the Olympic trials and place 32nd at the Beijing Games. He also finished 5th in the 2008 World Championships making him the highest placed American male. In 2009, Reed won 7 Triathlons and the Toyota Cup Series. Reed enjoys the challenge of three sports and thrives in the sport of triathlon. Reed wakes up in the morning and does the typical parent routine of making lunches for his children and taking them to school. Once his children are in school, Reed heads to the pool to do his swimming session. He then heads home to catch up on the day before heading out for a ride session.
