Kim Yuna Biography

Kim Yuna is one of the most decorated Olympic figure skaters in recent memory.  Yuna won Olympic gold in singles for South Korea in 2010 and won the silver in 2014.  She holds the ISU scoring records for women in the free skate and combined total.  There has never been a competition in Yuna’s career that she has been left off the medal stand.  She is also a two-time World Champion, three-time Grand Prix final champion, and the 2009 Four Continents Champion.  Yuna is the first female to win gold at the Olympics, the World Championships, the Grand Prix Final, and the Four Continents Championship.  She is a national hero in South Korea and endorsed by companies such as Nike, Korean Air, Kookmin Bank, and Samsung.  Yuna was instrumental in getting the 2018 Winter Olympics for Pyeong Chang.  Following her Olympic win, Time ranked her as one of the World’s Most Influential People and she was named an international UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador.
