Keith Olbermann Biography

Always known as a lightning rod for conversation, Keith Olbermann is one of the most accomplished broadcasters in America.  Olbermann rose to prominence in the 1980s with CNN and his TV/radio presence in Los Angeles.  In 1992, he jumped to ESPN and would take his first step towards broadcasting icon.  Joining with Dan Patrick on the late night SportsCenter, their act nicknamed “The Big Show”, would become one of the most quotable programs on TV.  Olbermann left the network in 1997 and mostly became a news and political commentator, with two stints at MSNBC.  He has also worked for Fox Sports, NBC Sports, and Current TV.  Olbermann has currently reunited with ESPN and hosts a show on ESPN 2.  He also serves as a studio host for baseball’s postseason on TBS.  Olbermann is a New York City native, lifetime Yankees fan, and baseball historian.  He began his broadcasting career while in high school and continued it while attending Cornell.
