Jermain Taylor Biography

Jermain Taylor earned the nickname “Bad Intentions” his tenacity when facing opponents in the boxing ring. Never one to back down from a challenge, this Little Rock, Arkansas native is one of the best when it comes time to stand toe to toe in the ring and compete. Taylor made his pro debut in 2001 and won the WBC Continental Americas Middleweight title in 2003 with a 17-0 record. He’d go on to win The Ring, WBC, WBA, WBO and IBF middleweight titles in 2005 with a win over Bernard Hopkins. He retained those titles for two years and racked up a 27-0 record before his first loss. Over the next six years he worked his way back up the ladder with the same hard work and tenacity that earned him his nickname. In 2014 he won back the IBF Middleweight championship with a 12 round decision. Taylor is a testament to what a person can do when they never quit and completely believe in their abilities no matter happens.
