Emily Cook Biography

Beginning her competitive skiing career in 1995, Emily Cook had a dream of becoming an Olympic gold medalist in the sport. Two weeks before the 2002 Olympics in her hometown of Salt Lake City, Cook broke both feet during a practice jump which ruined her dream. Watching those Olympics from a wheel chair, Cook was determined to get back to that stage. She took a few years off but returned to qualify for the 2006 Olympics where she finished 19th in the aerial event. Continuing to reach her dream, Cook won her first World Cup in 2008 and has since recorded 2 other World Cup wins with 9 podiums in all. She returned to the Olympics in both 2010 and 2014 where she finished with a career best 8th place in Ladies’ Aerials. Cook is now a 6x National Champion and finished 2013 ranked #2 in the world in aerial skiing.
