Bob Lenarduzzi

Bob Lenaduzzi is a soccer icon in Canada for his accomplishments as a player and coach. He played for the Canadian national team and was a member of the squad that made the quarterfinals of the1984 Olympics and the 1986 World Cup. Lenarduzzi began his club career in England with Reading. He truly made his mark as one of the stars of the now-defunct National American Soccer League. Lenarduzzi played with the Vancouver Whitecaps from their inaugural season in 1974 to the final year of league play in 1984. Over his 11 seasons, he established an NASL-record with 312 games played. In 1978, Lenarduzzi was named the NASL North American Player of the Year. A year later, he helped the Whitecaps win the NASL Soccer Bowl. Lenarduzzi also went on to great success as a coach. He piloted the Vancouver 86ers of the Canadian Soccer League to four championships before taking over the Canadian National Team in 1993. Lenarduzzi is a member of the Canadian Soccer Hall of Fame and U.S. National Soccer Hall of Fame.
