Bill Curry Biography

Bill Curry is a former college and professional player and coach. In his time on the field Bill played for the Green Bay Packers and was a part of their Super Bowl I victory. That came just two years after his time playing for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets football team from 1962-1964 under head coach Bobby Dodd. Curry has been a leader on the field as a player and on the sidelines as coach. Bill was at one time the leader of the NFLPA paving the way for the current conditions in place. As a coach, Bill had a lot of success, including an SEC Championship with the Alabama Crimson Tide, being a two time recipient of the SEC Coach of the Year Award, and the 1985 ACC Coach of the Year Award winner. For his efforts as both a player and coach for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, Bill has also been inducted into the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame.
