Tennis Star Madison Keys Comes Home to Speak at Anti-Bullying Assembly

Tennis star Madison Keys made a return home to Rock Island, Illinois to participate in an important event. She spoke at an anti-bullying assembly on November 11th. 

The event was held to launch the U.S. arm of FearlesslyGIRL, a non-profit that helps empower young women. There were girls that attended from several Quad City high schools. 

Keys' presentation was also live-streamed to 7,000 viewers at Augustana College. Keys took time after to meet with some of the girls and hopes she can make return visits. 

In 2009, Keys became one of the youngest players to ever win a match on the WTA Tour at the age of 14. She has gone on to win WTA Premier tournaments. 

Keys was the first American woman to debut in the top ten since 1999. She reached a career-high ranking of 7th in 2016. 

This year, she reached the final of the U.S. Open. Keys also reached the semifinals of Australian Open and the quarterfinals of Wimbledon in 2015.
