Snowboarding Gold Medalist Red Gerard Holds Autograph Signing at Exhibition

Olympic snowboarder Red Gerard became one of the most famous athletes in America during his run to a gold medal in slopestyle. A great group of fans got to meet him on Saturday at Jackson Hole, Wyoming. 

Gerard took part in an exhibition at the Bridger Gondola as part of the Rendezvous Spring Festival before holding an autograph signing. The Gold Medal Jam exhibition was free and open to the public. 

From 2:30-3:30 p.m. at the Mountain Dew tent and again from 4-5 p.m. in the Village Parking lot, Gerard signed autographs. Immediately after winning the gold, he went on press tours in New York and Los Angeles. 

Gerard was the first American to win a gold medal at the Games in Pyeongchang and the first medalist at the Winter Olympics to be born in the 2000s. In addition to competing in slopestyle, he also participated in the big air event. 

Gerard was also the 2017 FIS World Cup slopestyle champion and finished fourth overall. In 2015, he placed fourth in slopestyle at the FIS Junior World Championships. 

Gerard is the second youngest of seven children and began snowboarding with his siblings at age two.The family moved to Colorado when he was seven, giving him access to some of the country's best slopes.
