Six-Time Gold Medalist Usain Bolt is the New Face of Optus Ahead of the 2016 Olympics

Many companies will be locked in an endorsement arms race in the lead-up to this summer's Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.  Australian telecommunications giant, Optus, already has a leg up when it comes to scoring major athlete brand endorsers.

They have made sprinter Usain Bolt the face of the company.  Bolt will star in a series of ads starting next month under the theme, "Relentless Improvement".

The commercials will be documentary style and be featured across television, mobile, and online in Australia.  Some of the things that will be seen in the spot include footage of Bolt's family, his hometown, and his preparation for the Games.

Even before heading to Rio, Bolt has already built an unprecedented Olympic resume.  He has the world records in the 100 and 200 meters and is the first man to ever win six sprinting golds.

Impressively, Bolt has swept the top of the podium in the 100, 200 and 4x100 meter relay at the last two Olympics.  He also has 11 gold medals at the World Championships and won all three of the previously mentioned events at the 2015 Worlds in Beijing.

Bolt is a five-time IAAF World Athlete of the Year.  In 2009, he became the youngest member of the Order of Jamaica.
