Shaq Headlines the Field at Wednesday's Greenbrier Classic Pro-Am

The Greenbrier Classic is one of the newer events on the PGA Tour, but also one of the most fun weeks in the golfing world.  In addition to the tournament, a star-studded pro-am and multiple concerts featuring some of the top names in music are among the events.

One particular name will stick out above the rest this year at Wednesday’s pro-am in White Sulfur Springs, West Virginia.  NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal will compete in the field.

O’Neal will be paired with golfer Keegan Bradley, tournament chairman Jim Justice, and Justice’s son Jay.  Other notables who dot the pro-am field include New Orleans Saints’ head coach Sean Payton and Duck Dynasty’s Willie Robertson

Not many basketball players have reached a list of achievements on and off the court like O’Neal.  The 15-time All-Star ranks sixth in NBA history in points scored and 13th in rebounds.

O’Neal won four championships, including three with the Los Angeles Lakers.  During that run with the Lakers he won the league’s MVP award in 2000.

Also known for his larger than life personality, O’Neal has achieved success as a corporate pitchman, actor, and rapper.  He currently stays prominent in the game as an analyst for TNT’s Inside the NBA.
