San Jose Sharks Star Patrick Marleau Holds Autograph Signing

Patrick Marleau is one of the most beloved players in the history of San Jose Sharks. This past weekend, diehard fans got the opportunity to meet with the franchise's leading scorer.

On Saturday, Marleau helped open the new Dick's Sporting Goods store at the Great Mall in Milpitas. He made an appearance from 1-3 p.m. and fans lined up as early as 8 a.m. to get a spot in line to meet him.

Those who received wristbands were able to chat with Marleau and receive a complimentary autograph. There were several other promotions and giveaways planned throughout the weekend.

Last season, Marleau became just the 45th player in NHL history to score 500 goals. In addition to being the Sharks all-time leading goal scorer, he ranks first in career points, shots, games played, even strength goals and power play goals.

Marleau has spent his entire 19-year career with San Jose and the team has only missed the postseason twice in that span. He served as captain of the Sharks from 2004-09.

Marleau is a three-time All-Star and two-time finalist for the Lady Byng Memorial Trophy. He has represented Canada in international competition and is a two-time Olympic gold medalist.
