San Antonio Spurs Forward Boris Diaw Appears at Book Signing for Fans

The San Antonio Spurs are off to a hot start in 2015.  Forward Boris Diaw has helped them get there, but he took time Saturday to sign copies of his new book, "Hoops to Hippos: True Stories of a Basketball Star on Safari", for fans.

Diaw made an appearance at the Barnes & Noble in the Shops at La Cantera in San Antonio.  Tickets for the event were complimentary with a purchase of the book.

Due to high demand, fans stopped by throughout the week to pick up tickets.  The book is geared towards readers from ages 7-10 and shares wildlife facts Diaw learned on his trip.

Diaw is a key reserve for the title-contending Spurs.  He won a championship with the squad just two years ago and has been with the franchise since 2012.

The French native had an interesting road to the NBA.  He was the French League's Player's MVP in 2003 before being drafted in the first round by the Atlanta Hawks.

It was not until Diaw joined the Phoenix Suns in 2005 that his game truly broke out.  He averaged 13.3 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 6.2 assists per game that season on the way to winning NBA Most Improved Player honors.
